Melissa Bukosky-Boodjeh, M.S., CYT is a professional, senior Environmental Scientist. She began her practice of yoga in 1992 as a tool for recovering from illness. Inspired to share, she completed her first 200 hour Interdisciplinary Hatha yoga teacher training in 1999 from the Nosara Institute which combined Kripalu yoga with conditioning exercises synthesized from movement schools such as Alexander, Somatics, and Feldenkrias methods. In 2000, she began studying and benefiting from the heart opening journey of Anusara Yoga.
To date she has completed an additional 350 hours of advanced teacher training in the rigorous Anusara certification Program. Melissa attained Affiliation status in 2004 and has trained exclusively (375 hours) with Anusara founder John Friend. In 2008, she will have studied over 1000 hours for final certification with Anusara Yoga.
Her classes are spiritually inspiring and yet profoundly therapeutic for both the inner and outer body. Melissa integrates the radiant potential of the human heart seamlessly with scientific principles of biomechanics to help students find strength, relaxation, and their own personal wellspring of healing. Melissa is also a certified body worker and has taken over 200 hours of training in therapeutic yoga for Multiple Sclerosis, Cardiovascular Disease, Pain Management, and Cancer. She is whole-heartedly convinced of the healing power of yoga and offers specialized classes and workshops addressing individual therapeutic needs.
